Snowed in?
As we are in the thick of the liminal space of time between Christmas and New Year’s, with a slightly delayed White Christmas impeding our much loved relatives’ return home to Cousin Planet, we find ourselves snowed in with still days to go before the final episode of Stranger Things airs. What to do?! Too early to take down the decorations, too soon to start our resolutions as there are still many, many cookies that need to be eaten, and certainly too checked out to do work… Oh, right, there’s always plenty of books to read!
Here’s what we recommend for the occasion…
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead by Olga Tokarczuk
