Irish Inspiration

May the luck of the Irish be with you! 🌈 🌈

This St. Patrick’s Day, raise your glass and "Sláinte" (aka cheers)!

Did you know that St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national holiday? Maybe it’s because of all the permissive drinking! We’d like to think it’s due to the literature. In honor of Ireland and the Irish diaspora, let’s celebrate some Irish writers with their most inspirational quotes.

“Yes: I am a dreamer. For a dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”
Oscar Wilde, The Critic As Artist

“It’s lovely to know that the world can’t interfere with the inside of your head.”
Frank McCourt, Angela’s Ashes: A Memoir

“… You're on earth, there's no cure for that!”
Samuel Beckett, Endgame

“We learn of great things by little experiences.”
Bram Stoker, The Jewel of Seven Stars

“They lived and laughed and loved and left.”
James Joyce, Finnegans Wake

Yeah… that’s right… the next time you feel the urge to shame an owner of a Live, Laugh, Love sign, push it down and mutter under your breath, “Joyce did it better”.

And we leave you this very fine green day with a short poem by William Butler Yeats.

A Drinking Song

Wine comes in at the mouth
And love comes in at the eye;
That’s all we shall know for truth
Before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you, and I sigh.
